Editorial policy

How we write and review

Coffee Mug Warmer is an AI-assisted editorial site. This page explains how our content is produced, what we will and will not claim about products we cover, and how we make money.

How articles and reviews are produced

Our articles and product reviews are drafted with AI assistance, reviewed for factual accuracy against manufacturer specifications and aggregated verified-purchaser data, and published by an editor who is responsible for the final wording.

We do not perform hands-on testing of the products we review. When a product review describes a feature, it is based on the manufacturer's published specifications, the product listing on the retailer's site, and patterns reported by verified purchasers — not on our own use of the product.

What we will and will not claim

  • We will not claim to have personally used, tested, or hands-on reviewed a product.
  • We will not invent a star rating, a buyer count, a "verified purchase" label, or any other consumer metric. When we display ratings, they are aggregated from the retailer (Amazon, etc.) at build time.
  • We will not present a price as "current" unless it was retrieved from the retailer at build time through an approved API or widget. Our review pages explicitly tell the reader to check the retailer for the current price.
  • We will not publish an unverified negative factual claim about a named brand or product. Negative opinions are fine; negative facts must be checkable.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial conclusions. We only recommend products we would be willing to recommend regardless of the commission.

Where links point to Amazon, the verbatim Amazon Associates disclosure also appears on the relevant page: "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases."

Sponsored and paid content

We do not currently publish sponsored content. If we ever do, the piece will carry a clear "Sponsored" label at the top, with the same visual prominence as the content itself.

Corrections and contact

If you spot an error, please reach out via the contact details on the launched site. We update or correct material when a verified issue is raised.

This is a working policy and will be revised as the site and its compliance posture evolve.
